Hello, my name is Jiale Zhang, a first-year Ph.D. student in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My major is Embedded Systems in the ECE department. I graduated from ShanghaiTech University with an S.B. degree in Electronic Information Engineering.

My research interest focuses on the Combination of Human-Computer Interaction and Embedded Systems. I am keen on developing novel human-oriented sensor systems to enable various methods of sensing and broaden the field of the perceived object. I am actively studying under the instruction of Pei Zhang. Also, a big thanks to my previous advisor Alanson Sample for guidance and support during my master’s degree :).

Besides doing awesome & crazy research, I am also a snowboarder, singer, and hiker. These activities really help me relax in my spare time.

Life would be too smooth if it had no rubs in it.
